REVIEW: Challengers ★★★★

Juicy & Spicy that will make you want more! Way to make the game of tennis look sexy.

In all honesty, this film is about 3 people who want to LOVE but honestly don’t deserve it. They’re all demented in their own way.

Luca Guadagnino had a unique vision in bringing this complex character study to life. The script is ambitious, while jumping back and forth in time, culminating in one of the hottest tennis matches ever seen.

The soundtrack is suits the film just perfectly. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross went in to a different direction from the usual scores that they normally create and bring some high-octane techno beats to the court. The score pushes the intensity of the film and its' characters which take the scenes to the next level.

It's obviously no surprise not being able to keep your eyes off Zendaya as she takes control of each scene. The chemistry between Josh O'Connor and Michael David Faist is fire and leaves you expecting more from them. The three of them have this undeniable chemistry, so much so that they're pure toxic together. This cast does an amazing job showcasing the inner intensity of the characters, often without dialog and sometimes through the simple game of tennis.

It has to be mentioned, Zendaya plays the ultimate villain while playing both the game of tennis and love triangle with the boys.

From visionary filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, Challengers stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy turned coach and a force of nature who makes no apologies for her game on and off the court. Married to a champion on a losing streak (Mike Faist – West Side Story), Tashi’s strategy for her husband’s redemption takes a surprising turn when he must face off against the washed-up Patrick (Josh O’Connor – The Crown) – his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend. As their pasts and presents collide, and tensions run high, Tashi must ask herself, what will it cost to win.
